The works mainly comprise ground investigation for the redevelopment of Kwong Wah Hospital (Phase 2). The works were commenced in October 2023 and will take about 24 months to complete.

The ground investigation work includes rotary drilling and in-situ testing. Drill rigs and portable drill tools were used under different site conditions. The drillholes were located on flat ground and multiple floors inside the old buildings. Drilling and samplings were extended to a maximum depth of 80m. In-situ testing including Acoustic Televiewers, Permeability, Vane Shear and Packer Tests were carried out. Piezometers and standpipes were installed to monitor the underground water level within site boundary.
